Philosophy

I am a Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Manchester.

I did my PhD at Sheffield, supervised by Jimmy Lenman and Miranda Fricker.

Before doing my PhD, I was a BA student and then an MA student in Philosophy at Durham.

I like ethics. I especially like metaethics. My PhD thesis was about the metaphysics of moral realism.

I also like thinking about other areas of philosophy, including metaphysics, epistemology, and metaphilosophy.

At present, the majority of my philosophical work falls within two related projects. I discuss these in greater detail here.

Not Philosophy

I currently live in Warrington, and proudly share a bungalow with two guinea pigs and a dog.

The guinea pigs are called Denise Fox and Shirley Carter. The dog is called Sonja.

My partner, Lizzy, is a postdoctoral research associate in Edinburgh.
